"Posted 'Keep Out', so do you?"

4/14/08: This weekend I once again mounted a lone search in areas that a person could have dumped a body.  Yes, I was searching as others are for any sign of missing Colorado Springs woman Beckime Elshani.

No, I don't have a fancy helicopter, and my chances of discovering her are slight... but I just have to do it.

On Sunday I went to an area in Manitou Springs, that is easy access, but secluded.  I hiked and searched on public land, and on private land...  Why private land?  Because, 'Keep Out' signs do not prevent a person who is capable of killing, from dumping a victim there.

My heart skipped a few beats when I saw tattered clothing and a blanket under a tree on the private land.  Upon closer investigation, someone had been there, probably sleeping at that spot for a time judging from the clothes and decomposing books, but it was not that recent.  And it was not Beckime.

"Kellie Mac... movin' on up to 9PM says tip"

4/13/08: I received the following "Got a tip?" form: "KWGN, Beginning Monday, April 21, Kellie MacMullan will be anchoring at 9:00 PM. She will bring a new dynamic to the evening newscast and I look forward to her many contributions as we continue to evaluate the operation."

Kellie moved on up to the Denver market to the WB2 a while back, leaving Colorado Springs KRDO-TV.  She currently co-anchors News2 at 11AM and is the live morning reporter on the four-hour News2 This Morning weekdays.

Humm... if Kellie is going to be anchoring the News at 9, where will Vida Urbonas, the current anchor be heading?  Urbonas permanently replaced Asha Blake at that anchor spot a little less than a year ago.  I'm guessing News2 will be seeing more changes in the near future.

"The very right place, at the very right time"

4/13/08: Never have I seen or photographed what I was recently a witness to.  I first saw the herd when they were far away, across the meadow... but when they started to come closer to me, I had absolutely no idea they would be doing, what they did.

It was one of those... glad to be alive, cool things!
