"Possible wolf escape from wildlife center in Divide"

4/8/08: News Blab has received unconfirmed but
credible information that, as recent as yesterday, a wolf may have escaped from
the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center in Divide, CO. I tried to contact
the center, but only received their voice message each time I placed the call.
The CWWC is located just off of Lower Twin Rock Road, not far from two
subdivisions.
UPDATE:
KRDO News Channel 13 is reporting this -
UPDATE TELLER COUNTY - A wolf hybrid on the
loose in Florissant Colorado has been discovered to originate from a private
owner and not the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center.
The Sheriff's office tells NEWSCHANNEL 13 that the unique wolf breed got out of
its pen back on March 28th.
The animal has not been located and the search is continuing. The Sheriff's
office sent out a reverse 911 call notifying resident's in the area of the loose
animal. They do not consider the animal to be dangerous.

"Sky Ride, it'll be new at the Zoo"
4/8/08: I hadn't been to the Cheyenne Mountain
Zoo for a couple months, so a visit was long overdue. I decided to remedy that
on Friday, so up the mountain I went. To my surprise... there was a new
addition, still in the construction phase, but close enough to completion for me
to know what was in store for visitors in the near future. Check it out...

This bust of Russell Tutt looks on as the CM Zoo's new Sky Ride takes shape.
Excerpts from the CMZ website about the Sky
Ride:
On May 23, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will offer a new way to
experience the Zoo: a chairlift-style, open-air ride that will provide
spectacular views of the Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain and Colorado Springs.
The new “Mountaineer” sky ride departs from what is now known as the Mountain
Outfitters plaza. A separate admission gate is offered for those wishing to
enjoy the ride without a Zoo experience; Zoo guests will be able to access the
sky ride from the outside entry or from inside the Zoo.
The sky ride will be open year-round as weather permits. Extended summer hours
of operation, independent of the Zoo, provide opportunities to enjoy spectacular
sunsets and relaxing evenings from atop Cheyenne Mountain.

"Gazette layoff, 9 out the door?"

4/7/08: You know the routine... this should be
considered "Rumor" until confirmed. So, is the "Got a tip?" information I
received, "gazette lays off 9", true? Any additional 411...???
